A Gulp of …
A gulp of Cormorants. Apparently that’s the collective noun; or a swim (I like that). A gulp mirrors their head throwback as they eat their catch. More accurately, this tryst should be named a pair because with a bit of mutual grooming I’m betting they are a pair.

One picture does not tell a thousand words, because I need to tell you that just prior and post the photos being taken two Kingfishers traversed the river, a Heron flew over, and the clumsy photographer didn’t capture a flight of eight or so Goosander chicks taking to the air.

The river Wye isn’t what it was, further downstream it’s in a shocking state. But all cannot be lost as all of the above are fish eaters so something is attracting them to the river!
