You can take a Donkey to water….

Can you?  Not found here you can’t. Well that was fun. S in the garden room reading, me not in the mood for jobbies, and anyway wet branches and electric hedge trimmer is not a good combination! Decided to take the Donks for a walk. Put the reins on Margo, stood by her, moved forward and tugged and uttered the magic words – nothing! Repeat the process, nothing, one hundred times later there was some small forward progress – excellent, so must reward.
In the meantime, Jerry knows I have biscuits in the pocket so is doing her best to get at them which involves some pretty fast footwork and body swerves to avoid me being nipped, or having my pocket ripped off. Margo gets her reward and we have a repeat performance but then refuses to walk until she is rewarded. Swap reins and try with Jerry, who is better but still recalcitrant, but we did move about a dozen places – excellent and well rewarded but again that is the lot. Decided that was enough for today so they both got ginger bickies for having their collars on. More tomorrow to reinforce the learning (what learning? Stand there long enough doing very little and we get a bicky?)!
