Two chucks died in two days, not a good week, and not a good record.
One of the old girls, a real beaut, had her final days. Meaty girl, big hole. The other was a bantam who had a small foot problem which the other girls had noticed and begun to peck. This morphed into physical leg issues which we tried to medicate, but without success., so the vet euthenased her. Interesting fact #37 from David the vet “chickens are solitary animals not flock birds”. Interesting comment from him “it’s a privilege to do this”, ease an animal out of pain!
