The Goshawk…

is around. The silent killer that stalks its prey without call, whose wings are modified to not make a noise and which makes its kill silently and without disturbance. How do you know if one is around? A tell tale ring of feathers – just feathers, no carcass or carcass bits, just the indigestible bits left for the wind to blow.

two somethings left on the killing ground from two days feeding
Difficult to say but probably wood pigeons

We have seen him on the ground, guarding his prey and eyeing us warily. Put the bins on him and he is magnificently marked.
