The best time of day.

George leads the way.

Early morning, the sun is up but still thinking about it, the temperature is cool – 7.7 degrees, but the feel is that it will be warmer later, too warm. It is quiet, nothing is stirring, even then heron has abandoned its favourite spot. The river is lower this morning, way down to its summer levels and grasses where there were none sprinkle the rocks with their short-lived bid for freedom and reproduction. The sun sparkles on the rapids, but where is the Dipper and the sandpiper pair? What changes are we not seeing?
