Shortback and veg plot

It is that time of year again and hedge trimming is now the priority, one of the Autumn jobs that we look forward to. it’s out with the trimmer, up with the ladder, and on with the gloves, as rake in hand we go boldly to make the place tidier and less overgrown.

The conifer hedge surrounding the chicken area takes two days to cut and clear the brash (local term for the cuttings), then we have to work out where to put it. No convenient carpet to sweep it under. The chickens love to help this bit.
