Sad day, as we had Speckeldy euthenased.
Trip to the vet’s was interesting. No appointments but two 30min sessions per day and just turn up with what or whom ever. Just as we were pulling into the car park, a Land Rover with the obligatory trailer – this one was a stock trailer, sped in ahead of us and reverse parked in front of the large roller shutter door. We got into reception first, and booked in, then the farmer who clearly was stressed explained to the receptionist that he had a sheep on board which has produced one lamb, but was still straining. We followed a couple of dogs into the vet, and gave our thoughts on the future of the chuck. We insisted that she carry out our request after the session was over, as the vet clearly had quite a bit on her plate. As we left the roller shutter was raised and the vet got in the back of the trailer.
A Range Rover had arrived with a character standing beside it – what had he got inside it we wondered? Another farm pick up was there all waiting for the vet. Inside she had three or four pets waiting for her as well. Another busy day for the vet at this time of year.
