Ginger bicycle time

Well that’s not what I wrote – b++++y auto-correct!  What I wrote was “Ginger Biccy time”.  For they, you see, are donkeys favourites!  If you think a donkey is ill, try tempting him/her with a ginger, if they are intested then they are not as ill as you might fear.  If they escape then a ginger will tempt them back in, or at least you can use as a reward.  Want to worm a donkey? – easy, just put the worming paste between two gingers – hey presto!  All swallowed.

So, at about five-o’clock each evening I prepare their beds for the night and spread a good thickness of miscanthus absorbent and comfortable bedding.  They are curious and cannot quite see over the half-closed stable door.  It seems rude not to give them a treat!

They don’t seem too keen on my “Away in a manger” though.
