Twice a year a Malus, apple tree, comes into its own. The genus Malus covers all the domesticated apple trees and their root stock most visible possibly in the crab.

In Spring the bees love it and the mesmerising hum is louder than pinkish delicate blossom which never startles the eye. In Autumn the brooding and burnished yellow fruit is purely an optical pleasure. A bit of back light from an early morning softer and warmer Autumn sun brings out the hearth warm cosiness.
