A bole of sweet peas

Recycling, or upcycling – I’m not sure which, but this once apple tree bole is now home to some sweet peas. My Mother’s favourite flower, and Sandie’s too, and mine also. Having bought them we realised that we had run out of space to display them properly, which is a shame as they do need to be admired to ensure they flower to the full.

Necessity is the mother of invention, to quote Sandie and some lateral thinking reminded us that the recently felled apple tree had left a bole that needed something doing with, and a wider open space that needed filling, so without more ado, we dug out the rotted wood fibre that resided in it and filled it with some excellent compost and JI no 2.
