Will it, won’t it?
A while ago, storm Barra, visited us and the resultant surge left this fellow floating on the riverside. It appeared to be some thirty foot long and a couple of feet in circumference.

It’s difficult to take an image that portrays the scale of its size, but Rosie is trying her best to add scale! Once the water had subsided, more of the scale of the beast emerged.

The water level must have been about six feet above normal and the log grounded, which means that to float it again, then the water level must be greater than that. Currently another surge is going through, but at what level will it reach?
The current water level is just under four feet, will it rise in excess of six to float it? We will see, but we haven’t had an enormous quantity of rain, but it would be good to see it gone, if only to celebrate the power of water.
