Doings / The animals / The garden

Two into one won’t go.

Near the river gate we put a fence to protect the entrance from the Donks who persisted in eating the foliage. Problem. How to get two dogs in without letting the sheep in also. A talented garden designer and contractor suggested a narrow gap – too narrow for the sheep, but of a size which would accommodate the hounds.

The dog gate.

As you see it works, but we’re waiting for the normally intelligent dogs to work it out!

Except…

The Donks decided to use it and simply walked through!

Helping themselves to the trees and lush grass!
Edit... it now looks as if they went through the fence, a bit of under the barbed wire and over the stock fence!

I inserted a Trompe l’oil effect with these bars, removable to allow mower access etc. the sheepses simply went underneath! I now have simple locks on the other side!
