The ewes are back, crowded into one field; a sure sign that they are newbies. Appearing straight after the winter fair at Builth Royal Welsh show grounds, it could mean they have been purchased there.

And there’s the Tup, the male sheep (out of focus- note to self). I hope he gets paid more than that as he’s got a big job to do; but of course he could be a teaser, a young tuplet, put with the girls to bring them into season. The fully mature, main working, handsome and utterly irresistible ram maybe is on stage later.
