Letting off steam, January 3rd.
Snowy Donks
12″ (30cm) and the Donks look for grass.
… What? Do we get a ride on mower or…
Don’t know. More research today. Research over, the dobbins are arriving.
Preparations continue….

The asses arrived on 4th Feb 2017.
Two lovely animals, Mum and Daughter. Mom was originally bought by the previous owner to be a companion to a horse. She was rather a big girl apparently, and lo – by the amazing concept of birth the owner found she had two for the price of one.
They’ve been given stable (nicknames) of Margot, mum, the darker brown of the two, is haughty, disdainful, and looks like Penelope Keith’s character.
Jerry is the lighter one, and is a tester of boundaries. Note the Good Life link?! They are both interested in everything we do but with that sceptical eye that says that they think we are completely mad and are bound to fail in whatever we are doing.
19-02. They have been with us for two weeks now, and have settled in well (we think, who knows?) Evidenced for us by nice relaxed poses, rolling, and kicking their heels in the air,
All good this next week as we are off to the Donkey Sanctuary to learn how to keep them. As the vet said, they are very intelligent animals and need to be entertained and kept busy – he suggested getting two saddles! Sandie and I just looked at each other.
07/03/17. After the great escape yesterday, we have put the Donks out for a feed – three videos show them in action.
