Sandie selfie with George in the background. This is the inaugural trip back home from the sanctuary. George is a year old, and has a broken leg, mended badly in Ireland, and now mended to the sanctuary’s satisfaction. He’s not passed medically fit yet, he needs another x-ray and then he should be OK.
Rosie, the smaller bitch, is 5 or 6 years old and has bonded with George on the trip from Ireland, and they are now inseparable. The rescue centre tried to find a home for her, but she won’t play – so we’ve got a bonded pair!
Ten days in and Rosie is flat out in the heat. Must be relaxed and calm (up to a point!). Whenever anyone calls, she retreats to the kennel, ‘afrit that someone is coming to take her away.
