Storm Christoph…

The highest surge we’ve had so far this winter has been 4’6” above normal, we’ll see how high we go this time. Heavy rain overnight, but the river isn’t noisy – the first indication as soon as you step out of the door.

I was looking at the level yesterday and it’s about 18” above. I was also reflecting on the numbers of fry that I had seen. Hundreds of small fish (obviously!), around half an inch long, and swimming in the darting motion that they have at that age – maybe a week old, who knows.

What’s likely to happen to them?

A tree on its way to the sea during the last winter.

We’ll keep you in touch…
