Splitting headache solved…

By the use of this Simple widget. I inherited my Father’s toolbox thirty plus year ago, something I was looking forward to. Mother paid for it and stored it under the bed for safe keeing. it was second hand from a pawn shop (spelled correctly – Ed!) in 1934, so it’s getting on for a hundred years old and made by Guaranteed Tools Ltd., there was also a chisel box and inside was this little beast.

Splitting wedge

I hadn’t realised it was a splitting logs wedge, and jolly useful it is too. The end has been burred over, or peened, so a bit of tlc from the grinder is due, and it really is superb.

Spitted and polished.

Raring to go and it’s working even better.
