Pepys, the diarist…

Started chapters like so. “To Oswestry…”. So I did. But why, I hear you WhatsApp, because it’s there as Hilary said of Everest.

Now we are not so encumbered with the dogs our quest to explore Wales continues, except of course, that the fair town is in England , but no matter.

We found a delightful town of generous inexpensive car parks with an M and S food shop, the usual way over the top number of Turkish hairdressers, many lash and hair extensions places, some tattoo parlours (why are they called that?) and a marvellous example of an indoor market hall.

Pickle and Co, lovely shop.
The coffee hatch , overly loud and unnecessary music, but still atmospheric.

Victorian architecture predominated with a magnificent town hall, and other civic buildings, clearly this was an important town which housed many shops other than the endless procession of pound stores that it now has: oh! to step back in time.

The County and or the Town council had allowed some interesting Ginnel type developments which brought a touch of class and welcome sophistication to enhance the mix. Including an inventive coffee hatch which sold a very tasteful blend of coffee along with toasted muffins with a generous portion of bacon or sausage within them. Naturally, it was our duty to sample each.
