Wonky donks go!

Our photogenic donks for most of the year graze our sparse pasture.  Donks do sparse, it is something to bear in mind that (as a breed) they originate in Africa and similar hot dusty countries around the med.  Considering the size of the beast, they have quite small mouths and teeth which nip and chew small quantities of grass (and occasionally fingers!).  They are fed barley straw overnight, and from around October to March/April their diet is almost entirely straw.  During this period we like to put them out for an hour or so to stretch their legs – which they do quite noisily and with a lot of pent-up energy.
