Late Summer colour

The Chinese call it late summer, the period between summer (everything fresh and bright), and autumn (everything jaded and prepping for that season).

A very wet two months at the beginning of the year, followed by an early drought, and a dry sunny spring, means that trees are already stressed and are thinking of autumn, but there’s a way to go yet.

Sandie over-wintered the dahlias in the greenhouse, and sowed some sweet peas in the spring. They are now blooming madly, hence the video.
