Do you remember that film? The cartoon version from – wait for it, 1967 (believe it or not!)? IMDb rating of 7.5 out of10 (Internet Movie Database – interesting reference site). Any road up, the Beetles played, voiced, four buzzards in a tree which is the image I get when I see this lot…

Misty morning here, and John, Paul etc. are replete for the moment and humming the tune

“Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life”

Well who knows what Starlings sing, chatterers they are, and as you’ll know if they’ve heard your phone ring tone they are highly accomplished mimics. Blackbirds are an allegory of how we should treat life really aren’t they? Raise their young, chase off said young, empty nest, get on with living.

Any second road up, Sandie has a job to do filling up the service station and having incurred monstrous expenditure on Squirrel proof bird feeders, she’s discovered a Squirrel feeder. One of her sayings is “cut out the middle man”, and I can’t wait to say it to her and point out it’s a lot less effort and expenditure to pour peanuts onto the ground.

Spot the squirrel…

The observant amongst you will notice the distance between the squirrel feeder now residing at the west-bound service station and the shy and hungry animal who spotted the camera and dodged behind the bird feeder to avoid drawing attention to itself. So far, the feeder has had zero interest! We will keep you in touch…
