Sits in there, barking orders, overseeing my log splitting, barely an encouraging word, little team spirit, so I just get on with it and don’t complain…

Part two of the sycamore saga. Now that we’re using the wood up that we cut last summer (in the 40 plus degree heat – Ed.), the remaining stored logs need splitting and storing in a more organised way for next (sorry, this) winter.







I stored the logs under a tarpaulin – good move to keep it protected with ventilation, bad move in that not enough ventilation occurred and some rot set in. I’m impatient to get the job done, despite having all the time to complete it, so I am head down and wielding the axe and the splitter like crazy.
