It feels a bit false to say that because we have only known the greenhouse for ten years.  But, nevertheless, it is(was) such a good greenhouse that was carefully designed and built with Western Red Cedar.  It was typical of 60’s and 70’s gardening boom when post-war Britain ventured outside.  This one was built probably in the mid-80’s.  When we discovered it, literally, it was covered in raspberry canes and overgrown bushes of various types and the ubiquitous ramblers.

We cleared it and the veg patch and grew some very good crops. As the previous owners had aged, their willingness to treat the wood diminished so the rot had set in.  A couple of panes blew out to be replaced with plastic, and the ridge leaked so I installed a cap.

But the decision had to be made this year, so a skip was ordered and we began.
