You know what it’s like when you get into bed and the sheets have been aired outside and that lovely fresh smell relaxes and soothes.
It’s the same for the Donks. First job in the evening is to make the bed for them, spreading “Burlybed”, a branded bedding of Miscanthus grass, all chopped up and de-dusted. As soon as the door is open, in they go to roll and enjoy the fresh sheets. The youngster is usually first, pawing the floor, then down goes and rolls. Spatial awareness is not her strongpoint, so she inevitably ends up stuck on her back with legs against a wall. Mum takes a more sanguine approach, as here, and loves just to roll (in the centre!) and relax.
