Christmas shopping

Dear diary.

To Caerdydd for the shopping of ye presents of the seasone.  Quite a novelty for us this year, the first time in 25 years or so.  Can’t take the retailer out of us though so we critiqued the family retailer (John Lewis). Good strong and tidy offer, visually very strong, made untidy by twos and threes of staff standing talking and bitching. Plenty of “Buster and friends” left with 16 days or so to go, as well as other seasonal bits. You could navigate the store easily though and one would expect more people and crush.

Cardiff is 49 miles, say two hours away. Discovered a new route from Builth to Brecon -WOW. Early morning light turning shepherds warning and sheep on the hillsides -very Atkinson Grismshaw.  Christmas market in the City centre very OK rather than Good, but again not many people considering the date.  Or is it us just remembering Christmases past?
