Bulb time
As regular readers will recall, the garden is predominately a Spring one, when swathes of daffodils of all shapes and sizes duly pop up to say hello. There are not many more we can usefully add except in the top meadow and around the pond. Since we have lived here (six years and counting – Ed.) we have added a bag every year and this one is no exception.

However, we have very few tulips and those we have are hidden from our easy view, so this year we are planting some that we can see easily from the kitchen and utility room windows.

We are ahead of ourselves this year, usually it is about December when we remember that we have bought and stored the bulbs and then forgotten them.

The multi-purpose bulb planter come wrecking bar is a good tool at this time of year, and the recent wet spells have made the ground ideal to plant them.
