Christmas / Doings / The cottage / The garden

Autumn is on its way

We now can’t escape it, the change is happening, slowly and inexorably the season is changing.  The Acers are turning, a few leaves here and there, and the Virginia creeper is following suit. It is non more evident than in the veg patch, and in the greenhouse the tomatoes have had to be stripped and stored ready for Jersey breakfasts  and pickling.

.
Even as the year turns, the winter veg are maturing and casseroles are on the horizon; not until the time changes mind you, just one of our rituals.

Soon, thoughts will turn to Christmas, but not before we mark the anniversary of us moving here in about a month.  Time flies.
